local guy back in june -locked both his dogs inside of their carriers and left them to die in the apartment he was renting..he moved out and didn't tell anyone when the landlord finally went in to check on the apartment ,they found both dogs dead -carriers were filled with piss and shit -no food or water -both dogs starved to death ..what a horrible site that must of been -one carrier had been chewed and chewed and chewed trying to get out -i cannot believe smeone would do this to their pets and also i can''t believe no-one heard these dogs barking for help.....society today is so fucked up ....i am still fuming over that one and then vick ...
here we are wolf doin our best to help animals out like the cat you took in and the wild ones living in my yard i am feeding...why do people treat animals so unkind..why..!!!!

All seriousness aside, that whole cruelty to animals this is where sociopaths practice to become serial port killers. A clear line needs to be drawn between dogfighting nand animal cruelty and abuse and hunting and farming.
That thin line is FOOD.
We originally hunted for FOOD. We don't fight two deer, make wagers, smoke crack and get all party boy while we do it. We kill the animal quickly to minimize trauma and stress (makes meat tougher by releasing adrenaline and other things into muscles). Now we farm because we are thrify inventive creatures. We have however snuffed out the game animals natural predators (wolves, coyotes, bears, mountain lions) and therefore hunt to thin the heard and compensate for wiping out those higher on the chaing that naturally balance the populations so that famine and disease does not occur in the game populations.
Now that guy is not just anyone kids look up to him and he has a greater responsibilty to be a positive role model. Or maybe he doesn't who made up that rule. I could mangle a person a lot faster than an animal but I would love to shoot a deer before I die. It's a right of passage thing and even though peta and vegans will tell you otherwise, evolution provided incisors in our mouth for one thing...

SHIT! I knew I was a hypocrite for liking to eat steak and love my dog (even at the same time - horrors of horrors, I've even given the little bitch a piece of meat off my plate). Look it up before saying how fucked up it is that society has placed values on animals which BTW humans are also. The likelihood of someone torturing animals and killing a human is a fine line and one that is crossed by those that find torturing animals an easy thing to do.

In my area ..
The local BOW Hunters organizations donate all the meat they don't keep for themselves to the soup kitchens / churches that feed the homeless
Which certainly seems a better alternative to the municipality hiring a professional "head hunter" to bait the local golf courses and then shoot dozens of deer a night which are "disposed of in a sanitary manner" .. aka burned..

oh they know -as soon as the shooting starts -they know they are being hunted ...
pennsylvania and new jersey have different hunting seasons -
it has been documented that when it;s deer season in p.a there have been sightings of deer swimming across the delaware over to new jersey and vice versa when the seasons are about to start.... deer are one of the smartest wild animals --but oh the poor deer is so defensless....deer is food on our plates-save a lot money at the grocery store ..

Glaucoma eye mutts make great fighting dogs. I fight my tiger stripe domestic cat against a chinese crested dog with very few teeth. And sometimes go one on one with the feline warrior myself, using only a water pistol. It's savage and immoral but SOOO much fun! I am undefeated so far but that cat is training hard while I am work. I hear he puts the rocky soundtrack in his ipod and carries his scratching post on his back up and down the stairs. I vill cdush heem.

Im not really sure who I should have replied to with this ..
I dont think its worth its own thread for being basically the same topic ..
But.......
Vicks problem NEVER was the actual dog fighting or animal abuse issues, thats all tabloid .. (well its a problem .. but not in the sense Im trying to point out here)
It was the GAMBLING & Rico charges for crossing state lines the Feds had on him that caused him to cop a plea

from a legal standpoint, true enough.
from a moral/humane viewpoint, not to mention NFL public image/Madison Ave concern, it was the dog fighting and the way the dogs were handled
the reporter that made the comment he would have been better off raping someone was roundly pilloried, but, in my view, was not off target with the comment

it's goes hand in hand .....the gambling charges is what they can get him on for a lenghty sentence but at the same time it's all related to the dogfighting cause you have to have something to gamble on and it was an illegal -felony activity that he was involved in . dogfighting is against the law and he would've been brought up on more charges related to this and the dogfighting would've come up in court and what he did to those animals and their ain't no jury anywhere that would've found him innocent ....he took the plea cause his ass was grass...
don't kid yourself if you think all they were goin' after was the gambling ....

for sure the gambling was not "all" they were going for as it is obviously all tied in together
but the poor animals were certainly the lesser of the potential charges as far as he was concerned thats for sure, otherwise I imagine, he wouldnt have coped the plea
In general...
Gambling & RICO > Dogfighting if your a prosecutor or defendant
He and his immediate partners who all rolled on him are not going to be the only ones in jail over this .. mark my words
